Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers acquired starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo from the Milwaukee Brewers Monday in exchange for three players. The Brewers landed reliever Corey Knebel, infielder Luis Sardinas and minor league pitcher Marcos Diplan in the deal. Gallardo, 28, finished with an 8-11 record with a 3.51 ERA in 192 1/3 innings over 32 starts last season. He has pitched at least 180 innings in each of the last six seasons. The right-hander is slated to make $13 million in the final year of his contract. Milwaukee helped Texas in the trade by retaining $4 million of the salary. Morales is a joy to watch and continues to improve as he settles into life in Major League Soccer. Morales had 12 shots against Dallas, which is more in a single game than any other player in the league since the Whitecaps joined MLS in 2011. He had 130 touches in the game, 30 more than any other player on the pitch. Morales has the captains armband following the retirement of Jay DeMerit and he continues to lead by example. When he plays well, the Whitecaps are an entertaining side to watch. Having Morales on the pitch gives them a chance to win any game.
